I have fedelis insurance I live in NY and I think filling is covered by fedelis. is it? im thinking about going to asia but I have to get all 4 root canals done at once and I need to fill in all my teeth as well 1 of those root canals was started and was half done, then I said I can feel the pain and it hurt; that was after 6 novacane injections so im wondering if there is a way I cant feel the pain since I might have to get all of them done at once. please advise me because im realy scared about getting all of that done in a matter of a week or so in bankok. today is mon august 29 2005 and they might take me next week.

Hi there , have you checked with fedelis what is covered? Usually there is an upper yearly limit (around $1500), but treatment can often spread out over a period of time. Personally, I wouldn't recommend going to Bangkok for treatment. I'm not saying that there are no good dental clinics in Thailand (in fact, I've heard good things about the International Hospital in Phuket), but if there are any post-op problems, you're buggered. It might be possible to work out a payment plan with a dentist in your area. Is your insurance DHMO, fee-for-service, or what? Regarding pain - this can occasionally happen if there is an acute abcess, which renders the local anesthetic less effective, maybe that is what happened the last time, when you had to "abort" (you mentioned 6 injections). In the normal way though root canal treatment is pretty painfree, so the other teeth may not have this problem at all. Does your dentist offer nitrous oxide? Often, you'll have to pay a little extra for it (cos it's not covered by insurance), but it might be well worth it.
