Hi, I'm actually in Marin County north of SF. Its very difficult to search dentists with all the new ways of dental treatment, ie without drills and killing bacteria. Anyone can recommend a dentist, he's my friend etc. I'm looking for the best in modern dentistry. I was poisoned with mercury had a massive cancer, and a good biological dentist extracted the river of fillings and root canals, Hg + bacteria = methylmercury. Then I needed reconstruction. Years ago my dentist told me to tell other dentists that my teeth could not take fillings, do as little as possible. They never listened and kept replacing my fillings every six months until I had a river of fillings and multiple root canals that poisoned my blood. So I found a dentist to reconstruct my bite, repair remaining teeth and partials. $10,000 later the partial was toxic, my teeth are still falling apart because the alignment was useless. I'm now at another dentist to reconstruct the bite, I'm looking for yet another dentist to stop the gum disease I picked up at the last dentist and repair teeth and crowns that have fallen apart, and maybe corrrect the new crowns that are too big and breaking the teeth next to them, and one facing the inside of my mouth that is out of alignment. I only have 10 teeth left, and they are disappearing fast. I've had it with drills, diseases and toxic materials, to be honest dentistry has caused me tooth loss and debt, and I'm on disability because of all this. Everytime it goes wrong I get a new tumor. Please help me find a dentist who won't lose me any more teeth, who will undo the disease which has caused me to be on regular penicillin, most of my life I was on penicillin because of mercury and antibiotic resistance, I have no mercury now, just the new systemic gum disease I picked up, someone who is an artist and sculpture in placing non-toxic dental materials such as crowns. I think if I never had to have drills I wouldn't have needed crowns, but its probably too late now. Oh, and my doctor now says that I have a perferated ear drum, yep it was bad drilling in stereo behind it recently - I wondered what that was, and the 2 major teeth in need of repair are right next to the perferated ear drum, the wisdom and molar. It took me 10 years to get the mercury out, and 2 years with no teeth. I'm maxed out and feel like giving up, I have no teeth eat with and its hell lonely, I feel like I died 12 years ago and just haven't passed on. I suppose it was too embarassing for my daughter to invite me to her big 21st birthday dinner, she tried to avoid me finding out. I'm scared of the bill

I was poisoned with mercury had a massive cancer, and a good biological dentist extracted the river of fillings and root canals, Hg + bacteria = methylmercury. There is very little evidence of mercury toxicity from amalgam fillings in the scientific literature. However, it has been estimated that about 3% of the population are sensitive to mercury. Years ago my dentist told me to tell other dentists that my teeth could not take fillings, do as little as possible. They never listened and kept replacing my fillings every six months until I had a river of fillings and multiple root canals that poisoned my blood. Why were they replaced every six months?? Usually, they're only replaced when there's something wrong with them. Amalgam fillings can last 20-30 years or even longer. Sounds fishy to me. Poor oral hygiene can lead to fillings failing more quickly, but every 6 months? Root canals don't poison your blood. However, if a canal is missed, this could cause problems. I'm now at another dentist to reconstruct the bite, I'm looking for yet another dentist to stop the gum disease You're looking for a PERIODONTIST! Please help me find a dentist who won't lose me any more teeth, who will undo the disease which has caused me to be on regular penicillin, most of my life I was on penicillin because of mercury and antibiotic resistance You were on antibiotics because of antibiotic resistance Oh, and my doctor now says that I have a perferated ear drum, yep it was bad drilling in stereo behind it recently - I wondered what that was, and the 2 major teeth in need of repair are right next to the perferated ear drum, the wisdom and molar. As with the tumor, the two things may be totally unrelated? You're looking for a periodontist in the SF area who is mercury-free. Try www.doctoroogle.com.

There is tons, you mean there is very little evidence to support it is not a toxin, only when chewing on it every day for years it is safer than in toxic disposal. Every amalgam is 50% mercury, travels straight to female organs ready to be uptook in the fetus. The release of mercury vapor is worse than smoking - just because you can't see it in ordinary light does not mean it is not scientifically proved. Who are you trying to protect, ADA trade organization royalites, or the lives of patients?
Mercury should never be placed with disimilar metals, gold is always being used to replace mercury, many gold crowns have mercury underneath!!!! This promotes the release of mercury and corrosion from amalgam.
Most people are terrified of dentistry, instict alone tells us since our first experience as children that something is terribly wrong whether we know it or not.
Amalgam lasts until it corrodes away surrounding surfaces, that's why its not used on bridges and airplanes.
Yes the fish are poisoned too.
Exactly, every six months because biology is rejecting the toxin. But no one recognizes this in an otherwise healthy individual. Whenever amalgams are replaced the major part of the tooth is drilled away and ruining the bite and alignment. Resulting in expansion of amalgam in an unsupported tooth structure, that just cracks away, fractures or hairline fractures the tooth.
Root canals do poison the blood, this is well known in scientific tests on root canals, producing cadavrasine and putrasine causing focal infection and hypoxia when in the presence of mercury that travels through the tubules to unsuspecting parts of the body. Thus methylmercury contaminates the blood causing hypoxia, lack of oxygen in the blood, which is then a good climate for cancer to grow. Mercury is methylated into organic methyl mercury that passes through the blood brain barrier and implicated in neurological disease from Autism to Alzheimers, that's only the beginning.
Okay, so I want one who doesn't drill, who uses modern techniques to eliminate tooth loss.
No I said I was on penicillin, don't play word games, there is a big difference between penicillin and antibiotics, antibiotics contain metals that cannot penetrate the cell with mercury. Thus antibiotic resistance.
They are related, gum disease and root canal focal infection, and anything that transforms mercury are systemic, the same microfilms, mycobacterium, nanobacteria... are found in tumors, mercury and bacteria work together in this regard. The teeth have roots and a blood supply you cut off that with a root canal then there is a dead bone in the mouth, the mouth is the center of all neurological, senses and everything the body relies upon congregates at that point at the top of the thin neck that is the spine nevers and fluids that pass through the whole body. No one can live without a mouth, and yet its dismissed as if it has nothing to do with the body or disease.
We're all scared of what is being done with us, how can we not be, console us, blame us for our need of dental care, it doesn't work, that's patronizing. The problem is with dentistry, its out of the dark ages. I want to find a dentist with the tools to do no harm, someone with some artistic skill to match the tooth to the existing bite and align it with the spine, not just bite down okay you're done until there is no alignment left.
I know what it takes to be an artist and sculpture, there is no one size fits all, but that's how its being taught, I don't accept poor quality, outdated technology, and misguided denial about toxicity patented by a trade organization to protect its own interest.
I'm looking for a modern progressive dentist who thinks outside of the box of systemic conformity who doesn't undermine patient sensitivities by numbing their intellect rather than addressing real factors in the causation of fear from excessive dentistry played out and passed on to blame the patient for the lack of long term results.
Next you'll be telling me fluoride is the cure for dental disease, I wouldn't even have it if it weren't being spread at dental clinics. Well I found out - for all the commercial trade on dental products there is no cure for gum disease. If its passed on there is nothing to stop it.
Children who were never exposed to fluoride in the womb and infancy never got s.mutans that causes tooth decay, they turned the research upside down so trade organizations could sell fluoride that was left over from commercial industry, now its in water and doesn't even belong in the body for drinking. So the increase in dental decay in children was caused by the ADA to promote dental decay.
Who isn't scared of dentistry?

Yes the fish are poisoned too. As a poster on sci.med.dentistry once said, "I don't eat fish unless they have had all their amalgams removed and replaced with composite" I take it you've been reading "Root-canal cover-up"? You're probably on the wrong board. Try Google Groups (http://groups.google.com), and search for "amalgam". There is a group called alt.health.dental-amalgam which might be more suitable. BTW, penicillin is an antibiotic. Good luck with your search, there might be someone on alt.health.dental-amalgam who can help out. Mercury is a component of the amalgam used for "silver" fillings. The other major ingredients are silver, tin, copper, and zinc. When mixed, these elements bond to form a strong, stable substance. The difference between bound and unbound chemicals can be illustrated by a simple analogy. Elemental hydrogen is an explosive gas. Elemental oxygen is a gas that supports combustion. When combined, however, they form water, which has neither of these effects. Amalgam's ingredients are tightly bonded to each other. Although the types of chemical bonds in water and amalgam differ, saying that amalgam will poison you is just as wrong as saying that drinking water will make you explode and burst into flames.(http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/mercury.html)

You could try Dr. Fred Pockrass in Berkeley, CA in the East Bay. He's near the Claremont Hotel. Theres a website: www.transcendentist.comI haven't been to him, but I like his philosophy about dentistry, and he definitely fits your description re the mercury issue. In fact he takes it further - the whole office is ecologically perfect! His prices are high on the website. But if he's good, it's worth it. Another dentist who is anti-mercury in Berkeley is Sandor Hites on Telegraph Avenue. Again I haven't been to him, but people have said he's very careful to follow protocol in replacing mercury fillings. Good luck. There's also an expert cosmetic dentist in SF called Dr. Jeff Morley - I'll tell you next week what his take on mercury is, as I'm planning to go to him!

Morley isn't a quack (though obviously, as a hot-shot cosmetic dentist, he may recommend replacement of amalgams for esthetic reasons).
[to clarify, I'm not "against" mercury-free dentistry, far from it, but find that a lot of so-called "holistic" dentistry is based on unscientific scare-mongering, and not in the patient's best interest. It depends on the motivation and reasoning behind the decision to go mercury-free.]
