Are there things you don't like about this forum (apart from technical glitches - nobody likes those)?
Anything you really like?
Do you feel the forum should be divided into boards other than the existing ones?
Are there too little boards or too many? (by board, I mean e. g. "Your Dentistry Questions Answered", "Support", etc.)

In case this is relevant, we're gonna use YaBB 2 (once the "Gold" version is out, which should be very soon). It's VERY similar to this existing ProBoards forum (in fact, ProBoards is based on YaBB). I've decided against vBulletin, as YaBB is easier to use (for the admin and moderators, that is, LOL ) - and it's free. And I like it ;D. One thing I was thinking of is to have a separate "Your Dentistry Questions Answered", with a main board and subboards for specific procedures (like wizzie questions, sedation questions, root canal questions, etc. etc.). That way, people who have a specific question about a procedure will be better able to find existing threads on a topic.

Only thing I can think of at the moment (it's late again), is maybe combining the "General" and "Making it better" secitons into one specifically for board issues, ideas to make it better, comments, etc... then have a "general" section for just that. If people want to vent or whatever. Here's a few of the reasons why I picked this board when I was searching for one a couple weeks ago. - Seemed/is very friendly (I think it's a UK thing ) - most organized - looked way more up to date - overall atmosphere (pretty vague I know) Actually those are all pretty vague lol. I'll try and think of more specific stuff. Edit: overall this is an extremely good/nice thing you got going on, and I am glad I found it. Edit#2 - actually is there anyway to add "email notification", or maybe in the new software?

If people want to vent or whatever. At the moment, I've got the "discussion" section for venting/controversial posts. Do you feel it would be better to put "discussion" and "general" together, and add "board issues" separately? I. e. General -Board Issues -General Issues and Discussion Then remove the "Discussion" section, but have a separate section for Your Dentistry Questions Answered, with a general section and several subsections on various common topics? Or did I pick that up wrong? No, they're good! I tried to make it as inviting as possible, and it's nice to know that it works ! Thanks! e-mail notification when a new post in a thread you've subscribed to appears? Not possible with ProBoards, I'll have to find out if it's a feature in YaBB 2. It would be nice to have that, but might not be available. I'll check!

e-mail notification for threads in which you have posted yourself will be available in YaBB. Don't think there's a "subscribe to this thread" or "subscribe to this author" funtion, though (I've seen that on IdealBB, but IdealBB is very slow to load).

Something along those lines...... Yep, definitely worked for me Sweet. Thanks for checking. Yea for me it's really nice since I am always signed into MSN, and any forums I go to I like to know when I have a reply in a thread I have posted in, otherwise I'll forget, or think there has been no replies.
